A design team from Clark Nexsen‘s Raleigh office reimagined the classic Eames DSR chair as the DSR2 to support the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A Chair for Two

Inspired by the premise that “Good design is meant to be shared,” the chair comfortably seats two while emphasizing the iconic profile of the original. It features an interchangeable section that can be fabricated in a variety of materials, textures, and colors.

The design took home the People’s Choice award at the 2014 Good Design Challenge hosted by Herman Miller and Alfred Williams & Company. The annual design event challenges local design firms to create a functional work of art using the Eames molded plastic side chair.
