With Baselworld 2015 just around the corner, we did a little research and found out the top 10 luxury watch brands in the world. The list includes a few surprises. See for yourself!

Rolex is a Swiss company that demands respect in terms of tis iconic culture, marketing prowess and turnover. Founded in 1915, Rolex is a powerful brand. Watchmakers at Rolex focus on crafting a comfortable design that is easy to fix. According to their website the word “‘Innovation’ can only begin to describe [the brand].”

Ulysse Nardin is well-known for its highly accurate marine chronometers. The company produces pioneering watches using innovative materials and manufacturing techniques. The Brand has won 18 international gold medals in chronometrics.

Headquartered in Biel, Switzerland, Blancpain is owned by the Swatch Group. The company produces fewer than 30 watches per day. Each timepiece is crafted by a single watchmaker. The company has never produced quartz watches in the past and does not intend to in the future.

Girard-Perregaux designs and produces its own movements. The brand is well-known for its timeless and classic designs. The origins of the brand dates back to 1791. The company, which produces 12.000 pieces a year, has invented many innovative concepts.

This Swiss brand is well-known for its legendary spirit of innovation. From the first Grande Complication pocket watch produced in 1882 to the recent models like Jules Audemars, the company continues to produce some of the world’s finest watches.
#4 A. LANGE & SÖHNE
German high-end watch brand A. Lange & Söhne is based on Glashutte and has been crafting precise watches since 1845. All A. Lange movements are developed, produced and assembled by the brand itself.
#3 BREGUET
Founded in Paris in 1775, Breguet has a past history that includes Marie Antoinette and Napoleon. The company has been run by the Swatch Group since 1976. Breguet has pioneered many watch-making technologies like tourbillon.

Vacheron Constantin is the oldest watch manufacturing company in the world. The company’s philosophy “Do better if possible and that is always possible,” has enabled it to create watches that push the boundaries of perfection.
#1 PATEK PHILIPPE

Patek Philippe is well-known for its precision and craftsmanship. This family-run company develops and manufactures its movements in-house to its own quality criteria. Investing in a Patek Philippe is a smart move as its high market value ensures good profit at various auctions. Since 1839, 100% of its movements have been awarded the official Hallmark of the Geneva Seal. Its Supercomplication is the second most expensive watch in the world at $11 million.
