Find below the schedule for the second day of AD Home Design Show 2015:
1. Pride of Place: Top Services to Make Your Home Your Castle (Noon – 1 p.m.)
One of the great things about living in New York City is the abundance of services that can ease the experience of designing and maintaining a residence. Moderator Elaine Louie, a New York Times contributor, sits down with contractor Chip Brian of Best & Company, Sabrina Fierman of New York’s Little Elves, Gary Mindlin of Top Hat Home Services, and interior designer Gideon Mendelson
2. Kitchen & Baths: Renovating with Style (1:30 – 2:30 p.m.)
Updating a kitchen or bath with new surfaces, new fixtures and appliances, and fresh colorations can add functionality, aesthetic and market appeal, plus a sense of renewal that is reflected throughout an entire home. Elaine Louie, New York Times contributor, hosts an exciting discussion with Dominic Mincieli of Duravit, Designers Kati Curtis of Kati Curtis Design and Fu-Tung Cheng of Cheng Design, who will showcase stunning examples of how they have pulled off numerous kitchen and bath renovations on both optimum and minimal budgets with style to spare.
3. Designing with a Mission: A Converstion with David Rockwell (3 – 4 p.m.)
Design writer Tim McKeough goes one-on-one with acclaimed architect David Rockwell to discuss Rockwell’s recent projects, his design philosophy, and why he continues to give back through his work. The talk concludes with a walk through DIFFA’S DINING BY DESIGN at Pier 92 to view Rockwell Group’s installation.
4. Outdoor Living: A New Sophistication (4 p.m.)
Homeowners are yearning for new ways to enjoy the great outdoors, from city terraces to suburban landscapes. Hear from a panel of leading designers who create stunning outdoor settings for their clients. Panelists: Interior designer Anthony Baratta and landscape architects Janice Parker and Thomas Balsley.
5. Rockwell Group Chefs Club: “Let Them Eat Cake” (4:30 – 5:30 p.m.)
Rockwell Group and Chefs Club by Food & Wine bring the interactive, ever-changing sprint of the New York City restaurant to DIFFA’s Dining By Design.
At Chefs Club, French-born, Michelin-starred pastry chef whips up a new cake for each day of the week. Sample bites of all seven delicacies from dense and rich to light as air.
