Emeco filed a lawsuit against IKEA this week, claiming the MELLTORP dining chair violates the copyright on its 20-06 stacking chair designed by Norman Foster. While IKEA didn’t comment specifically about this case, a representative did say that “Ikea never deliberately copies products sold by other companies or designers.” There will be a hearing in Munich in September.
