It may be a little early in the year to think about cooling off, but the Cool-ID Tumbler by Finnish brand Magisso will come in mighty handy during the dog days of summer. Just awarded a 2015 Red Dot Design Award, the self-cooling tumbler, a creation of British tableware designer Simon Stevens, has been given a simple ceramic form that manages to keep cold drinks cold for hours on end. The key lies in soaking the container in cold water for a few minutes to get the process going, and then filling up. A whimsical touch is Cool-ID’s chalk-receptive outer surface—handy for personalizing with name or cheeky command. Pretty cool, indeed.
