A Modern Electric Bike with a Retro Look

For those who have an appreciation for a retro aesthetic and modern technology, the Faraday Porteur might just be the thing for you. Remember several years ago when we featured Faraday when this idea was just a concept for a competition? Well, now it’s a reality that the public can buy!

The Faraday Porteur is an electric bike that has the classic look of a utility bike. Only 39 pounds, the Porteur is an 8 speed bike that you plug into any standard outlet to charge. To charge the whole bike, it takes only three hours.

One of the highlights of the bike is its “Boost mode”, which is a button on the handlebar that turns on the pedal assist. Looks like biking up steep hills just got a little less rough on our hamstrings.

The Faraday Porteur bike can be purchased in person in San Francisco or online. You can even give it a test ride.
