The gold-topped pavilion isn’t the only kitschy thing about Milan’s Fondazione Prada— Wes Anderson designed the cafe inside. For Bar Luce, the filmmaker wanted it to feel like a 1950s Italian cafe, and took his inspiration from Neorealism films, specifically 1951’s Miracolo a Milano and 1960’s Rocco E I Suoi Fratelli.
