Cannes 2015: Best movies

The 68th Festival de Cannes opened last week in France at Palais des Festivals. More than 19 movies were running to conquer the festival‘s top prize, the famed Palme d’Or.

Cannes was full of elegant people, such as actors, producers and other industry workers. The red carpet was transformed into an incredible source of talent: since Catherine Deneuve to the filmmaker Emmanuelle Bercot.

During the international film festival, hundreds of thousands of people visited the seaside town. It would be the french film, “La Tete Haute,” that would open this year’s festival. Filmmaker Emmanuelle Bercot directed the french movie.

Critics widely praised the filmCarolwith actresses Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara who play lovers in the movie. Cate Blanchett’s lesbian movie Carol was chosen for Palme d’Or.

Fighting for the Palm prize were alsoOur Little Sister,” the French film, “Valley of Love,” and “Mountains May Depart,” a movie from China. Also a movie to watch out, ‘La giovinezza’ is the second time the director has worked with English-language actors, including Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz and Paul Dano.
