Frida Kahlo NY Botanical Garden Show

The New York Botanical Garden has a blockbuster exhibit on its hand this summer, thanks to the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Kahlo, whose cult following rivals that of no other 20th Century artist, was famously inspired by horticulture—a fixation illustrated in the various plant and floral motifs that were as much a part of her fashion statements as her paintings. For this exhibition, Kahlo’s garden at Casa Azul (Blue House), the Mexico City home she shared with her husband, Diego Rivera, has been recreated as a meandering tableau of native flowers, plants, trees, water fountains—and a color palette dominated by vivid cobalt blue. For both novice gardeners and Kahlo fanatics (count us in as both), there may be no better way to spend an afternoon in New York than at Frida’s colorful garden.Frida Kahlo NY Botanical GardenNY Botanical Garden Frida Kahlo ExhibitFrida Kahlo Botanical GardenNew York Botanical Gardens Frida KahloNY Botanical Garden Show Frida KahloNY Botanical Gardesn Frida KahloFrida Kahlo NY Botanical Gardens ShowFrida Kahlo NY Botanical Gardens
