Stories of Light by Studio Dennis Parren

Through color and reflections, patterns and sculptures, designer Dennis Parren tells a story of light and dark at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Etienne.

With Dotted Lamp, LED technology is transformed into a playful yet elegant lamp. Inspired by nature, particularly an ethereal jellyfish, the lamp has a plug and play design that utilizes a 3D printed frame.

Gradients is an art installation that features the blending of colors. It consists of carefully placed white polystyrene shapes that sit under RGB lights. As a result, each shape reflects light and blends the color, resulting in a field of colored gradients.

Lastly, Reflections focuses on its namesake and examines how light reflects when pinned in different shapes. Using the exact same set-up as Gradients, the light is captured rather than absorbed. Somehow, it creates a completely different result and story.
