Caterham Limited Edition Marks Superlight’s 20th Anniversary

Caterham is celebrating Superlight Model’s 20th Anniversary with a limited edition of just 20 luxury cars. The British brand’s iconic car was launched for the first time in 1996 and the special edition Seven Superlight Twenty is going to be revealed at the Goodwood Revival during this weekend, among other luxury collections.

The Superlight Twenty focuses on its lightweight design and nimbleness, just like the original vehicle. All of them will come with a 135bhp 1.6-litre engine and six-speed gearbox. The bodywork also has a large amount of carbon fiber parts that include the nose and aero screen, cycle wings and rear wings.

“As well all the five-star reviews and animated feedback from customers for its driver appeal and roisterous character, it always represented excellent value by being a genuinely accessible performance car bargain – which is why we’ve tried to recreate that magic by celebrating the 20th anniversary of its launch” said Caterham Cars CEO, Graham Macdonald.

The bodywork is finished in bare aluminium, just like the original Superlight, as it saves 6kg in weight by not using paint. All of the 20 special editions come with unique gauges, key and gear knob.
