Prada’s Car Shoe Now Customize Driving Moccasins

In 1963, Gianni Mostile founded Car Shoe, after being awarded a patent by the Italian Ministry of Trade awarded him the patent for an innovative shoe model. He had designed a new kind of moccasin with uppers perforated with rubber studs.

Car Shoe, which as the name suggests, make shoes which are specifically for driving. Their latest project seeks to deliver an unparalleled experience, with a line of moccasins made to order, being (and rightly so) the first company to bespoke driving shoes.

Customised to fit the driver’s perfectly, the Car Shoe is available in four different types of leather (ostrich, cordovan, crocodile and centred crocodile) and in over thirty colours. Each Car Shoe is hand stitched by highly skilled artisans, in Europe’s finest tanneries.

Each pair is retailed at approximately £1,800 and can be purchased from Car Shoe flagship stores, which are now Prada owned and run, in Milan, Capri, Hong Kong, London, Dubai and Forte Dei Marmi.
