Maison et Objet Paris 2015: Inspirations 2015/2016

By KOKET

20 years have pasted since the first MAISON&OBJET fair, making Paris the world capital of design. Every year designers, artists, artisans, architects get together to show each other the hottest and newest design trends of the year. Taking advantage of the French capital’s powerful allure, the unmatched and unique savoir-faire found in the country, the vibrant creative tapestry of France and the personality of the most influential designers of the day, this major fair has ceaselessly expanded in surface area, exhibitor participation and visitor numbers.

After our presence in the last five fairs, this one of our favorite design events. We had the best moment with the finest people and experienced the most amazing design trends of the world. You can check out the highlights for our partners last year.

We can see on Maison&Objet’s website why they selected some inspirations for this year’s fairs. It is all a matter of regaining control. The idea is to restore the value of manufactured good. “The latest luxury can be seen in a return to the essential beauty of craftsmanship and perfecting materials. We love watching the scenes of the creation which manufacturent exceptional objects.” it’s the opinion of the fair’s staff that you can read on their website. The rules are created by makers and artisans and all the trends should be inspired on nature, the beauty of handmade products and the technological advances which are the mark of the world’s evolution.

NATURE MADE by François Bernard – Agence Croisements (Hall 7)

Scientists, artists and designers of living things are summoning the spirit of nature and playing with its laws using somewhat bewitching rituals. Leaving things to chance, the experiments and mutations made by these bio-magicians are catalyzing the supernatural. Thus are born fascinating creations that herald a new generation of objects.

HUMAN MADE by Elizabeth Leriche (Hall 7)

As the tool for a new luxury, the hand is touching and transforming things. From the alphabet of materials and the grammar of crafts, neo-artisans’ expertise is putting together sensitive, rare items. Beyond their function, these works show a radical uniqueness. The art of making is freeing the object from the norm so that it can leave its mark in time.
