Recent 2015 arrivals at 2Modern include the elegant lighting designs of Sonneman. The American modern lighting company, founded by New York-born designer Robert Sonneman, has carved out a niche in the lighting design field distinct for its refined esthetic sensibilities and artful profiles.
Noted models include the Atelier Pendant series, a graceful contemporary design of exposed light bulbs and linear metal arms, that strikingly blurs the line between sculpture and lighting. The Quattro collection of table and wall lamps—with flat-panel, glare-free LED illumination and colored geometric elements, a modernist dream of which Mondrian would, no doubt, have approved—graphically illustrates the company’s original approach to creating ‘A Way of Light.’
