Istanbul is often referred to as a crossroads of civilizations. A place where many cultures meet and coexist. This same principle was applied in one of the city’s newest and most ambitious interior design projects: G by Yoo.

These two 35 story high towers are the result of a collaboration between Yoo and the turkish residential development company Mar Yapi.
The G by Yoo project was inspired by world famous French designer, Philippe Stark, who is one of the two founding partners of Yoo, together with property entrepreneur John Hitchcox.
Philippe Stark is a master of many internationally known interior design projects, and describes this new adventure as a collaboration among friends. Mar Yapi’s mission is based on the realization of perfection, which is what the French designer also aspires to.
According to Stark G by Yoo is a place for people to meet, for firms to show their potential and for the inhabitants to enjoy a life in a very exclusive island of wellbeing.
He believes that the clients of his new interior design project can be defined as a smart tribe, basically modern people who like to invent and create their own lives. The towers should be seen as a very special and unique reality that he refers to as the vertical village, where the settlers meet and become almost like a community.
Stark also says that Istanbul is the perfect setting for such an ambitious project, as it is the place of meeting. Along the shores of the Bosphorus, modernity meets tradition. A perfect building has to have a perfect location, “we can’t build with old ideas” says the french designer, and this is the case of the G by Yoo project.

Care and attention are dedicated to details such as the lobby, that Stark says is very important as it is the first place one meets when entering the buildings and it is a synthesis of the tribe’s lifestyle. G by Yoo also comprises of many amenities such as VIP meeting rooms, entertainment room, spa, an enormous gym, a bar where the best cocktails are served, green spaces and a secret garden as well, among others.

Finally this interior design project is the perfect combination of intelligence, elegance and a meeting between past and present. It is the result of a strong collaboration between great architects, a world famous designer and great residential developers whose ambition is to create a space that is sophisticated, that provides high quality and at the same time is environmentally conscious. All this is G by Yoo.
