The homeowner doesn’t save the words to talk about it. “There is a lot of glass so you can enjoy the view and the outdoor lifestyle even inside,” says Henrik Lepaspoon to Dwell magazine. “You live in the middle of the weather somehow. It’s a really harsh environment, as you have these southwesterly winds blowing through the house. But it is really beautiful as well.”

It’s on New Zealand’s Great Barrier Island that we find this hideaway, following the tradition of the bach, off-the-grid typology commonly seen on the nation’s beaches. It hasn’t water supply. Concerning the roof, it stores an underground tank for drinking and washing.
