As if we need another reason to wish we were in Rome, this transformative mural by the Italian street artist Jerico may be added to the list. Part of a recent public art project known as Big City Rome, the mural is one of 20 in the city’s district of Tor Marancia, a southern neighborhood of housing projects far from Rome’s epicenter. There, eleven builidngs were handed over to a group of 20 participating artists—hand picked by the non-profit gallery 999Contemporary—whose job it was to mark the buildings’ facades with their signature motifs, transforming Tor Marancia, so often on the sidelines of Rome’s cultural hub, into a vibrant, if temporary, cauldron of creativity. brooklyn-street-art-jerico-big-city-life-rome-02-15-web-2Via Brooklyn Street Art
