Hotel decor has really stepped into the spotlight over the past six years, and boutique hotels are sprouting up in quaint towns and metropolitan cities, offering a more intimate, curated, and tailored customer service experience to make you feel like you’re home away from home. When I pulled up to the large and grand doors of El Palauet hotel along the busy street of Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona’s trendy shopping district, the emphasis on design was quite clear. And after getting a tour from the staff, the emphasis on the customer was even more so.
