The YC1 chair, part of the Yamanami collection, was designed by Tokyo-based Mikiya Kobayashi for Takumi Kohgei. The wooden structure, made from oak or walnut, with its fabric-covered seat cushion would look like just another chair if it weren’t for the unique detailing on the seat back.
Simple white rope is threaded through holes in the chair and run through a leather, tube-like detail which helps to cradle the back while creating a beautiful and unexpected seat back.
