AD Home Design Show 2015: What to see in the first day

As you know, AD Home Design Show 2015 starts today. And one of the main goals of the New York Show is to engage the design community in spirited dialogue by programming trade-seminars.

And if you are looking for what to see in the first day of AD Home Show 2015, which is today 19th March, you’re in the right place. Find below the callendar with the best design talks happening today in AD Home Show.

1. American Made from the Inside Out (noon)

We hear it from the media, from government officials, and from homegrown businesses: “Buy American.” Fortunately, in recent years a groundswell of high-quality Stateside manufacturing and craftsmanship has once again encouraged designers and architects to support American-made home products. Hear unique perspectives from industry insiders on this abundance.

2. The Art & Science of Sourcing the Kitchen (2-3 P.M.)

The kitchen is a complicated room from a design perspective. It can be a showpiece, a cooks’ work space, a gathering spot, or all of the above. Sourcing products and materials for this unique room can require exhaustive research and technical expertise. Find out how to confidently navigate this ever-evolving process to achieve a beautiful state-of-the-art kitchen for any client.

3. Keynote: Socializing your brand (4-5 P.M.)

Architectural Digest Editor in Chief Margaret Russell engages designers Alessandra Branca and Alex Papachristidis in a lively discussion about how they’ve expanded their brands and amassed fans through social media. The three will give expert advice on how to cut through the endless online clutter to turn digital resources such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest into tools for business as well as sources of inspiration.

4. Opening-Night Reception (5-7 P.M.)

Celebrate with the design community during this show-wide reception, presented by Baldwin Hardware. Franck, the winner of the 2014 Show Us Your Baldwin design competition.

5. COCKTAILS BY DESIGN (7–10 P.M.)

Join the Who’s Who of the design industry in celebrating DIFFA’S DINING BY DESIGN. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and network with the design community’s most influential talents. Tickets are $200 each and can be purchased, if available, at the entrance until 4 P.M.on Thursday, March 19.
