About 80% of California’s water is used by its agriculture industry; like in other states, California penalizes farmers that don’t use all of their allotted water rights. Startup SWIIM wants to be a sort of Airbnb for water, where farmers can lease their water rights to those who need it, while still keeping its value intact.
