When planning their kitchen overhaul, Manhattan homeowners Pallavi and Arup had originally decided to leave their bathroom — which was original to the house and a little the worse for wear — as it was. But as the project progressed, they realized it was important to them that the style of their bathroom match up to the updated look they were pursuing in the rest of the apartment, and that by leaving all the fixture footprints in place, they could save money on the remodel.
