The group won quite a few awards in the recent years, including 5 times Conde Nast Traveler Best Hotel in the World, Wallpaper* 2012 Finalist of Best Business Hotels, 2009 Emmy® Awards Winner for Outstanding Art Direction For Variety, Music Or Nonfiction Programming, 2001 Presidential Design Award, 3 nominations to Tony Awards for Best Scenic Design or multiple recognitions and awards from Interior Design Magazine.
In 2014, to mark the 30th anniversary of the company, the Rockwell Group published a book What If…? The Architecture and Design of David Rockwell. The book itself reflects designers’ interest in materiality and sensory experiences by using innovative and unusual silkscreen, binding, and printing techniques. Narrator and contributor voices are highlighted using different typefaces, bringing personal perspectives and behind the scenes details to life.
