Discover The Indoor/Outdoor Living Design of The Keeshen Residence ⇒ The Keeshen Residence, that was supposed to be a simple single-story house, turned out to be a two-story home and an amazing example of indoor/outdoor living design. It also has incredible views that span all the way to the Hollywood Sign, a huge bonus in Los Angeles real estate.
Created by DEX Studio, The Keeshen Residence was designed to offer the best of Southern California indoor/outdoor living while boasting views of Los Angeles’ most iconic landmark. The contemporary design shows the use of lots of warm woods, spotted under the exterior roof overhangs which feature redwood cladding running opposing ways on each floor.
The extended roof lines offer protection from the sun while adding an aesthetic appeal to the home. A part of the lower overhang is cut out, allowing the tree below to grow up through the hole without any disruption. This goes along the indoor/outdoor living philosophy, showing the importance of nature.
The front entryway was built with an expanded porch where the owners can sit outside and enjoy the weather. It is equipped with a barbecue and exquisite contemporary furniture that is very inviting to outdoor relaxation.
The backyard is equally inviting, with a space to relax and a swimming to be enjoyed. A vertical succulent wall was built into the redwood fence that doubles as a piece of art.
Large sliding glass doors open up to connect the interior to the outdoors, extending the square footage and giving the illusion of a much bigger space. The same wood treatment continues inside, giving the space a cosy feel.
