Frieze Art Fair 2015 Highlights

Frieze Art Fair will return to Randall’s Island Park in Manhattan. New York, between May 14 and 17 and today we also want to give the main highlights of this most wantd art event that New York is about to experience.

Frieze Art Fair is one of the most appreciated and important events that Arts and Creativity can see in American Fields, and it’s main target is all about related to contemporary – one of the world’s leading contemporary art fairs, is exactly how it is called. So, lets do this, shall we?

The Spot

Housed within an innovative structural design and overlooking the East River, the fair will showcase the world’s most exciting contemporary galleries.

The World’s Leading Contemporary Art Galleries

The fourth edition of Frieze New York will bring together over 190 of the world’s leading contemporary galleries. With a particularly strong showing of local galleries this year, those new to Frieze New York include: Acquavella (New York); Blum & Poe (New York/Los Angeles), Clearing (New York/Brussels) and so on.

Spotlight, Frame and Focus

The 2015 fair introduces Spotlight, a new section for solo presentations of 20th-century art which has been a critically acclaimed feature at Frieze Masters in London. Advised by curator Adriano Pedrosa, Spotlight explores unexpected positions from established artists.

Under age

Solo presentations by young galleries under eight years old, Frame features the most exciting emerging galleries from around the world.

Frieze Projects

The Frieze Projects program at Frieze New York is curated by Cecilia Alemani and will feature six new artworks, inside, outside and even underneath the fair on Randall’s Island. The artists participating this year are: Korakrit Arunanondchai, Pia Camil, Samara Golden, Aki Sasamoto and Allyson Vieira.

Frieze Talks

Bringing together leading artists, writers and cultural commentators, Frieze Talks 2015 is programmed by Tom Eccles (Executive Director, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College) and Christy Lange (Associate Editor, frieze).

Frieze Education (what is new)

The Education program at Frieze New York gives high school students and children from underserved communities across all five boroughs access to arts programs.

Stand Prize

The most innovative gallery stand at the fair will receive a prize supported by Champagne Pommery. The prize of 15,000 USD will be judged by an international panel of curators.

Restaurants

Including new dining options and the return of many Frieze favorites, this year’s participating restaurants include: Court Street Grocers, Dimes, Frank- ies Spuntino, Marlow & Sons, Milk Bar, Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream, Parlor Coffee, Prime Meats and Roberta’s.
