Plaid currently sits at the cross-section of high fashion, grunge revival, the recent heritage movement, and of course, one of Target’s current marketing campaigns. Over the years, it’s also read as preppy, punk, and hipster. But if you divorce it from any of these associations, it’s a classic graphic pattern with a lot of possibility. It’s also functional and fashionable.
