Profit from sunlight that is coming into your home and take advantage of natural light. There are a couple of things to do in order to maximize natural lighting in your rooms. Use objects to potentiate the endurance of the Sun in your house.

Start with the mirrors: there are two ways to place it and enhance natural light. If you place it on a wall adjacent to a window, it will create the illusion of having more windows in the wall. If you place in the opposite side of a window, the mirror will reflect lighting from the window.

If windows are limited, go for reflective surfaces like a back-painted glass backsplash used parallelel to your stove, that can bounce light around and give the impression of more light.

Let light come into your house by opting for translucent shades that alow lighting coming to your setting, providing also privacy. The shade will get a soft glow and will bounce light into the wall adjacent to the shaded window.

Ceilings must be lighter than walls. If you have dark walls, be sure to use a slightly lighter color on the ceiling. The ideal is to go for matte paint — while not reflective like glossy or semigloss —it will be a good choice for reflecting light.
