Start with the mirrors: there are two ways to place it and enhance natural light. If you place it on a wall adjacent to a window, it will create the illusion of having more windows in the wall. If you place in the opposite side of a window, the mirror will reflect lighting from the window.

Let light come into your house by opting for translucent shades that alow lighting coming to your setting, providing also privacy. The shade will get a soft glow and will bounce light into the wall adjacent to the shaded window.
