IconicHouses Website Celebrates the House Museum

IconicHouses.org is a database that aims to connect people with the 20th century’s most architecturally significant houses, specifically those that have been converted into house museums. The organization aims to not only highlight these incredible structures to make the public more aware of them, but also prevent their demolition through conservation and fundraising efforts.

From Mies van der Rohe’s controversial Farnsworth House to Le Corbusier’s classic Villa Savoye and everything in between, IconicHouses.org provides information and images of these now house museums to the viewers, as well as links to their for easy access. The site also features an interactive map documenting the distribution of these buildings worldwide. With hundreds of buildings in its database, there is something of interest for virtually everyone to discover.
