Exquisite stools with a contemporary design brought to life thanks to talented hands and ancient techniques challenged everyone, pushing the limits of Arts and Crafts. The results are masterpieces filled with the soul of their makers and thinkers, a tribute to handcraft, our cultural heritage and legacy. You will be able to see them showcased at the design fair.
Challenging the traditional concepts of fine craftsmanship and keeping alive the spirit of experimentation, Culture is the perfect place to share knowledge and ideas and to innovate. Several different ancient techniques and arts, like marble work, Murano glass sculpture, wood carving, marquetry, acrylic and oil painting, among others, are merged into one single purpose: create something beautiful. From the Creative Atelier to Workshops, all related tools and equipment are provided to create pioneering handcrafted art pieces.
Culture will create a Limited Edition Series that will give makers the opportunity to integrate galleries and private rooms, along with careful promotion, offering a career-defining opening. All of these are ways to enrich the artist’s signature.
Artists in Residence is a Program that promotes an immersive experience and an open atmosphere that encourages limitless creativity. A great possibility to stay and work temporarily in Porto, Portugal, and to be exposed to an artistic community that lives in constant evolution. Culture is taking place in the new Covet Town, a Design & Craftsmanship city where Covet Foundation based its headquarters.
The CULTURE Creative Hub is assembling its first steps towards a brighter future for the craftsmanship world and the experimental handcrafted works of art taking shape in the artistic atelier are only the beginning. More projects are still come (as a museum and an art gallery) and the foundation wants as many people involved in this unique process of developing pieces with meaning and character as possible.
