Michael Smith
Michael Smith‘s new project ‘Casa Del Mar’ is a Santa Monica institution since the roaring ’20s when it was the see-and-be-seen destination of the old Hollywood elite. Now the hotel has been revived into a modern-day touristic location and filled with luxurious upgrades all done by the celebrity interior designer Michael Smith, being one of the top luxury design projects.
For example, in the case of the rooms, everything has been made new. – There are custom designed alder and walnut furnishings throughout, with particular attention paid to incorporating a wide variety of hues and textures. The ebony finished pieces contrast with the light blue walls, and there is a soft colour palette all over the rooms. The bed is a rich walnut four-poster bed that includes luxurious white linens, plush chenille throws, and a bisque-coloured ceramic garden stool located at its base.
Other particularities of this room include – a hand-silvered mirror, a selection of thoughtfully chosen novels, as well as whimsical artefacts reflective of the property’s beach location; such as coral and vintage maps of downtown Santa Monica, inspired by an original print dating back to the 1930s.
Kelly Hoppen
Kelly Hoppen is one of the greatest interior design inspirations of our times, and her luxury design projects give the most personalized interior design experience to any client. She assures that each interior is tailormade, while also always blending luxury with practicality. As an interior designer, she doesn’t only focus on hospitality or residential projects, but also on developing stunning yachts for private clients, as well commercial projects from all around the world, including; restaurants, offices and aircrafts.
This all-white family room designed by Kelly Hoppen is one of our favourites. It includes the kitchen, and both dining and sitting areas while also incorporating contemporary furniture. All this makes the area highly functional, but also very comfortable and luxurious. Another highlight of this room is the perfect natural ambient lighting, which also provides a major sense of dimension. The green plants are the perfect touch in the kitchen area.
David Collins Studio
Located in the famous Park Avenue in Manhattan, between 84th and 85th streets, the 1010 Park Avenue Luxury Residences will surely become one of the priciest and most sought-after luxury design projects in the city. The full-floor, four-bedroom residences feature interior design developed by the internationally renowned firm, David Collins Studio and exterior work by award-winning architecture practice, Beyer Blinder Belle.
We especially love this kitchen design for its ultra-modern look which is complemented by; Grecian marble, premium stone countertops, custom parquet floors, Dornbracht fixtures and high-end Miele appliances.
Philippe Starck
Yoo is a pioneering design concept for living and also the result of a partnership between property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and the ubiquitous designer, Philippe Starck. Since 1999, Yoo has worked with international developers, designing landmark residential and hotel projects throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North and South America.
Yoo’s main goal has been creating a brand that offers a sense of value, visibility, and velocity to any project they get involved with. Their fame certainly comes from their ability to deliver landmark projects that compete at the highest level, and reflective of stellar design. The final result is always like the living room design in the above picture – inspiring, filled with vision and high quality.
Patricia Urquiola
One of the most exciting projects by Patricia Urquiola is the Room Mate Hotel in Milan. This 85-room hotel has a prime location right in the heart of the cultural, fashion and shopping area of the city. You can walk to both the Piazza Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele shopping mall, making this hotel a very glamorous and trendy choice.
Patricia Urquiola had complete freedom to interpret the brief in the way that would work best for the location and space, and the result is just beyond astonishing, being one of the best luxury design projects in Milan. The hotel, literally, aims to be a ‘home away from home’ so it was important to build a very familiar environment, where guests find everything they need to live temporarily in the rooms as if they were indeed in their own home.
In Patricia Urquiola’s own words – “Room Mate Giulia expresses the essence of Milan; it’s new, fresh, fun and welcoming. It embodies the city through its colours and materials. Room Mate Giulia has a lively personality and promises guests a unique experience in Milan”. This is one of the top luxury design projects you really can’t miss.
