Dutch design studio Moooi unveiled two beguiling new versions of the brand’s best selling Raimond and Heracleum lamps at this year’s Salone del Mobile. The Raimond Tensegrity Floor Lamp adds a floor model to the Raimond modern pendant range—named for its designer Raimond Puts—a spherical design comprised of delicate stainless steel bands and studded with tiny LED lights. In the floor version, Raimond’s sparkling globe rests gingerly on a stand made from slender oak sticks, appearing to hover just above it, rather than resting on it.
Bertjan Pot and Marcel Wanders took their inspiration from nature when they conceived of the Heracleum suspension lamp series, featuring ethereal metal-and-LED compositions of branches and buds. The designers’ new Heracleum Endless lamp adds a modular contemporary suspension light to the Heracleum range—a customizable horizontal design that makes possible “a perpetual blossom of new branches that multiplies by the meter.”
