Neat Idea: Little Bishop Ceiling Hook

Anyone who’s ever tried to corral the unruly electrical cables of a pendant light will cotton to this little device, produced by Melbourne industrial designer Antony Richards. Little Bishop is a mindfully designed contraption that cleverly keeps electrical cables neatly secured—without detracting from the intrinsic organic character of suspension lighting. The two-part fixture—comprised of post, which screws into the ceiling; and appended ‘hook,’ which holds the cable—is a seamless monolithic resin structure, designed to appear as a natural ceiling element, rather than a necessary hardware intrusion. Little Bishop’s criss-cross of specifically carved grooves locks the electrical cable into place securely (and artfully), while facilitating the graceful cascading of pendant lamp—sans unsightly industrial hooks. No wonder we’re, yes, hooked.01-DSC_8864-1000x700-104-DSC_889001-DSC_8864
