New arrivals at 2Modern include the exquisite IC Lights Collection from FLOS. A suite of exceedingly elegant lamps in which a single sphere balances on a linear brass element, the IC Lights Collection was conceived of by Cypriot-born, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades, who was inspired by a video of a contact juggler balancing spheres on his fingertips and arms.
Comprised of floor lamp, table lamp, pendant light and ceiling-mounted fixture, each model in the IC Lights Collection features a blown glass opal diffuser, mounted on slender brass-finished steel rod—an arrangement so delicately composed that the glass sphere appears to be precariously perched, rather than firmly attached, to its corresponding metal element. It’s quite a balancing act!
