Brooklyn studio Souda has released a new set of concrete tables distinguished by the organic forms for which the design practice has become known. Designed by Isaac Friedman-Heiman, Souda’s new Kreten Tables were introduced at ICFF this past spring, and represent the latest in Friedman-Heiman’s series of undulating branch-like objects, each comprised of primarily cast concrete.

The company’s emphasis on process as much as end-product is once again evident in these new creations, each rendered wholly original, thanks to a concrete mixture poured into molds made from a spandex-like material commonly found in wet suits. Available in two sizes, Kreten Tables straddle an enviable line somewhere between art piece and necessary object, both materially creative and functionally innovative—by design. 2Modern Kreten Side Table Souda Brooklyn_3
