Omar’s Place: The New Mid-Century Modern Restaurant in London ⇒ London has welcomed its new mid-century modern restaurant, Omar’s Place. An intimate restaurant and bar serving Mediterranean cuisine and exotic cocktails, Omar’s Place’s design is the result of a collaboration between London-based Sella Concept and architecture studio Wilson Holloway.

Occupying the ground floor and basement of a grade II-listed Victorian corner block in London’s Pimlico neighbourhood, the interior combines a palette of rusty hues with terrazzo surfaces and precious details such as velvet seating and gold accents, all reminiscent of a mid-century style.
Sella Concept and Wilson Holloway collaborated with Omar Shaaban, a hotel and restaurant operator in Egypt and Turkey, to transform the derelict site into a warm hospitality experience. Against a backdrop of terracotta-hued walls and timber slats, the ground floor splits into a bar and lounge area on one side, and a more formal dining setting on the other. The light-washed, voluminous space is characterized by radial lines and circular motifs and furnished with streamlined Carl Hansen chairs and asymmetrical brass pendant lamps that call to mind solar phases.
Wilson Holloway was founded in 2014 with the simple aim to empower individuals and companies with contemporary, transgressive, high-quality design. The studio operates at the forefront of a new wave of designers that blur the boundaries between historicism, decoration, and digital process to create intricate spaces that are comfortable in the context of contemporary design culture.
Sella Concept is a non-conventional design studio and business consultancy. Their philosophy is to reinvent the retail, hospitality and office industry by creating site-specific brands. They believe that a unique offering drives a culture and a long-lasting customer base to help visionary clients realise the true value of their real estates and business.
