REX has unveiled its newest project, called 2050 M Street, a 37,100 square meter premium office building in Washington DC’s “Golden Triangle” business district.

With constraints in building heights and massing in Washington DC’s zoning codes in mind, 2050 M Street “maximizes its façade’s potential to set the new standard of trophy office space within the DC market,” through a glass, hyper-transparent curtain wall without any mullions to impede views.

The façade’s roughly 900 glass panels are curved to a two point nine meter radius, yielding structural efficiency and greater transparency.

“To emphasize the ethereal lightness of the skin, all perimeter columns are pulled in [three point eight meters] in from the façade, and the ceiling is tapered to the depth of the structural slap as it approaches the exterior.”
