From the architect. The hotel complex, comprises eight buildings which are phenomenally randomly placed on the plot. Nevertheless, this group of cubes forms a small centre in continuation of the ski piste and therefore gives a “Village“ character to the, until now, undefined structure of the Mulania Valley of Laax, Switzerland.

Inspired by the megaliths of the alpine landscape, the facades are “dressed“ with broken regional quartzite and look like boulders, pieces cutaway from the mountains and playfully placed on ground. The windows are of different sizes and shapes and were custom made out of oak.

Stone and wood. These are the materials used for the shell of the buildings and these together with slaked lime and concrete continue to decorate also the interior of the holiday apartments, minding for a harmonious and relaxed atmosphere.
