Q: We are in the process of remodeling the lower level of our split level home, which was formerly a barrel-themed bar. The carpet down there was bright red, and is also on the stairs leading up to the kitchen. We have hardwood floors throughout our house, aside from the kitchen, which has large square tiles, and the bar downstairs. The plan is to use some sort of tile downstairs (I’m leaning towards a porcelain that looks like wood), but I have no idea what to do with the steps. The other steps in our house are wooden, but I feel like it would look bizarre to have 3 different types of flooring in such a small space…
