TAG Heuer have kept a solid media presence as of late with the celebration of two solid partnerships. Firstly, the Swiss brand announced it would continue as official timekeeper for the Goodwood Festival os speed, taking the opportunity to showcase a collection of Formula 1 cars, as well as a selection of Steve McQueen’s rare collection of classic cars, including a Porsche 356 Cabriolet, a Mini Cooper 1275, a Jaguar E-Type and a few Ferraris for balance.

Naturally, TAG took the opportunity to honour it’s link to the emblematic American actor, who famously wore one of the first Monaco models in the 1971 Le Mans film. Considered the heart and soul of TAG Heuer’s code cracking heritage, the square cased timepiece was miles ahead of it’s time when it was first released, both in terms of design and technological advancement. It was also considered a classic case study example as the first wristwatch to reach global fame through product placement, and the Hollywood phenomenon.

It’s second celebration comes as the Swiss watchmakers close their deal as official timekeepers and watch sponsors of the World Surf League and Big Wave Tour, announcing a brand new line. The “Aquaracer”s is available in three models: the limited edition “Black Phanton”, and the non limited “Black” and stainless steel blue models.

TAG offers two dial sizes for each of the models, the 41mm, which sticks to the simple time and date dial, and the 43mm case with a chronograph dial. The watch features a ceramic bezel and up to 300m of waterproof resistance, as well as luminescent dial markers and a diving bell engraved case back.
