Upcycled Chairs Inspired by Traditional Nigerian Parables & African Fabrics

London-based The Shop at Bluebird has worked with artist/designer Yinka Ilori over the last six months on a solo installation called ‘If Chairs Could Talk’. Ilori, known for upcycled furniture, was inspired by African fabrics and traditional Nigerian parables, both of which played a part in his childhood. Merging parts of his Nigerian heritage with contemporary design, the collection results in colorful chairs that have stories to tell.

They’re presenting the collection of chairs during this year’s London Design Festival and will be on display until November 27th, 2015.
