Flowers that use nyctinasty, the act of opening and closing for energy or defense purposes, inspired Studio DRIFT to design the Shylight. The fixture opens during a 30-foot fall, mimicking a blooming flower or deploying parachute. They can be seen in person at Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
